Rome, 106 BC. AR serrate denarius, 3.74 g. Laureate head of Jupiter left. / Jupiter, holding sceptre and reins, hurling thunderbolt, in fast quadriga right; in exergue: L SCIP ASIAG. Crawford 311/1a. Some deposits on reverse. Nearly very fine. The reverse records the decisive victory over Antiochos III of Syria in 190 BC by the moneyer's ancestor, L. Cornelius Scipio, at the Battle of Magnesia.
