KINGS OF MACEDON. Time of Philip V and Perseus, 179-168 BC. Pseudo-Rhodian Drachm (Silver, 15 mm, 2.87 g, 5 h), struck during the Third Macedonian War, uncertain mint in Thessaly, Straton. Head of Helios facing, turned very slightly to right. Rev. ΣΤΡΑΤΩΝ Rose with bud to right; to left, bunch of grapes. Ashton, NC 1988, 46 var. BMC 208. Nicely toned, well-centered and with a 'dramatic' head of Helios. Extremely fine.
