ATTICA. Athens. Circa 430s-420s BC. Drachm (Silver, 15 mm, 4.23 g, 1 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with olive leaves and palmette, disc earring and pearl necklace. Rev. ΑΘΕ Owl standing right with head facing; to left, olive spray; all within incuse square. Svoronos pl. 11, 19. A very attractive, well-struck and toned example. Some very minor traces of corrosion and apparently uncleaned, as found, otherwise, extremely fine.
