LUCANIA. Metapontum. Circa 290-280 BC. Nomos or Didrachm (Silver, 21 mm, 7.71 g, 2 h). [Δ] Head of Demeter to right, wearing wreath of barley ears, triple-pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. ΜΕΤΑ Ear of barley with leaf to right; to right, above leaf, star above two amphorae; to right, below leaf, ΦI. HN III 1625. Johnston Class D, 4.16. SNG ANS 517 (same dies). Bright, sharp and attractive. Very minor marks, otherwise, good extremely fine.
