IONIA. Magnesia ad Maeandrum. Circa 155-145 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 16.62 g, 12 h), Herasippos, son of Aristeos. Diademed bust of Artemis to right, with bow and quiver at her shoulder. Rev. MAΓNHTΩN EPAΣIΠΠOΣ APIΣTEOY Apollo standing to left on maeander pattern, holding a filleted laurel branch with his right hand and leaning his left elbow on a tripod behind him; all within laurel wreath. Jones, obverse die 27. SNG Berry 1067 (same obverse die). SNG von Aulock 2042. Very attractively toned and of lovely style. Some striking flatness, otherwise, extremely fine.
