IONIA. Teos. Circa 540-478 BC. Stater (Silver, 20 mm, 11.78 g). Griffin, with open mouth and with two curved tendrils falling down his neck, seated to right on ornamental pedestal, his left forepaw raised. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Balcer 2 (same reverse die). NAC 54, 2010, 127 (same dies). Very rare. Nicely toned, well-struck and well-centered. Extremely fine.
