CILICIA. Soloi. Circa 410-375 BC. Stater (Silver, 20.5 mm, 9.81 g, 7 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing a crested Attic helmet, adorned with a griffin on the bowl and a palmette on the neckpiece, and a pearl necklace. Rev. ΣΟ-Λ Bunch of grapes with stem and two tendrils, placed diagonally within a lozenge-shaped incuse square. Casabonne type 4. Cf. SNG France 169 and SNG von Aulock 5864. Boldly struck, and with an attractive, glossy, dark patina. Extremely fine.
