Titus, as Caesar, 69-79. Dupondius (Orichalcum, 27 mm, 12.66 g, 7 h), struck under Vespasian, Rome, 72. T CAESAR VESPASIAN IMP PON TR POT COS II Radiate head of Titus to right. Rev. ROMA /S C Roma seated to left on a cuirass and two shields, holding a wreath in her right hand and a parazonium with her left. BMC -. BN -. Cohen -. RIC² 466 under Titus (same dies). From the same dies as Numismatica Ars Classica 84, 2015, 952 (but, in a slip, described as RIC² 437). Very rare; nicely centered, well struck and clear, with a lovely dark green patina and a bold portrait. Nearly extremely fine.
