Caracalla, 198-217. Assarion (Bronze, 19.5 mm, 3.98 g, 7 h), Ariassus, c. 202-206. ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΥ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟ-C Laureate and draped bust of the youthful Caracalla to right. Rev. ΑΡΙΑC - CΕΩΝ Dionysos standing left, nude but for his boots and a cloak over his shoulders, holding staff with his left hand and pouring from a kantharos held in his right; to left, at his feet, panther kneeling left, his head turned back to right. SNG Paris 1380. SNG von Aulock 5003. Von Aulock, Pisidien I, 438-445 (same dies). A very attractive piece, with a pleasing portrait of the teenage Caracalla and a green patina. Nearly extremely fine.
