Caracalla, 198-217. (Bronze, 29 mm, 13.18 g, 6 h), Seleucia ad Calycadnum, struck after 212. AV K•M•A• ANTΩNINOC Laureate head of Caracalla to right. Rev. [CEΛEYKE / ΩN] / TΩN ΠPOC KAΛYKA Δ ΝΩ Dionysos, standing right in a biga drawn by two panthers, holding a thyrsos in his right hand and, in his left, a kantharos from which he pours wine over the head of one of the panthers, the head of which is turned back to left; to right, Silenos kneeling facing, his head turned to left and his right hand outstretched to catch some falling wine. SNG France 986. SNG Levante 746 = SNG von Aulock 5830. A very attractive, well-struck coin, with a fine olive-tan patina and a wonderfully detailed reverse. Extremely fine.
