Locris, Locris Opuntii, stater, c. 350-340 BC, head of Persephone right, hair wreathed with barley, wearing pendant earring, rev., ΟΠΟΝΤΙΩΝ, Ajax advancing right on rocks, holding sword in right hand and shield decorated on the inside with palmette and griffin, on left arm; spear lying on ground, 12.07g, die axis 4.00 (Morineau Humphris group 22, p. 74, 160), fine style, well centred, toned and good very fine.
