Gilt silver pendant. Islamic, Ottoman, Mahmud II (AH 1223-1255 / AD 1808-1839), dated to regnal year 27 (= AD 1835). Pendant with five panels, two of which are triangular with gilt floral decoration on each side. Three with gilt inscriptions on one side, gilt floral motif on the opposite. Below is a scyphate, coin-like terminal pendant with the ruler's tughra on one side, the other side reading zuriba fi Qustentiniyah ("minted in Constantinople") and the regnal date 27 (= AD 1835) and accession date 1223. Length: 14.4cm. Toned. Some surface loss on one of the panels.
