Cappadocian Kingdom. Ariarathes VII, Philometor. 116-101 B.C. AR drachm (18.31 mm, 4.14 g, 12 h). Struck 110/09 B.C. Diademed head of Ariarathes VII right / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΑΡΙΑΡΑΘΟΥ // ΦΙΛΟΜΗΤΟΠΟΣ // Ζ, titles vertically downward to right and left, and horizontally beneath Athena standing facing, head left, holding Nike and sceptre, shield behind; in inner right field, Λ and in inner left field, O/M; in exergue, Z (= yr. 7 = 110/09 B.C.). Cf. Simonetta 20 (fieldmarks); Cf. HGC 7, 832. Near VF, lightly toned with darker deposits in recesses.
