Macedonian Kingdom, Chios. Alexander III the Great. 336-323 B.C. AR drachm (17.76 mm, 3.64 g, 11 h). Chios mint, Struck ca. 290-265 B.C. Head of Alexander as young Hercules right wearing lion-skin headdress, paws tied at throat / ΑΛΕΞ[ΑΝΔΡΟΥ], name vertically downwards to right of Zeus Aetophoros, enthroned left, right leg drawn back, holding eagle and scepter; in left field, M-in-circle monogram (above bunch of grapes - off-flan). Price 2319v1. VF, lightly toned; reverse 25% off-center to south losing half of legend and field marks.
