Romulus Augustus (475-476). AR Half Siliqua, Ravenna mint. D/ [DN R]OI IVL AV- [GVSTVS] PF AVG. Pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right. R/ Turreted figure standing left, right foot on prow, holding sceptre and cornucopiae; across field, R-V. RIC 3413. C. 8. Ranieri 204. AR. g. 0.84 mm. 13.00 RRRR. Extremely rare and in excellent condition for issue. Irregular edge, fresh and detailed portrait, blackish patina. Good VF/VF.

The only silver issue of the last Western Roman Emperor.
'Coinage in the name of Romulus Augustus is composed almost exclusively of solidi and tremisses. Some extremely rare silver half-siliquae of Ravenna (which borrow the interesting type introduced by Julius Nepos) are known, and until very recently no nummi were known.'
