Spanish colonial leather dispatch case dated MDCCLXXVIIII (1779). 1071 grams, 13" x 17". Excellent condition despite a few chips in the leather, with original paper interior lining, the sides reinforced with leather stitching and the bottom with two large straps, the triangular opening mirroring an embossed design, but most striking feature is the embossed date highlighted in gold, undoubtedly rare and important.
