Costa Rica, 1/2 real, "lion" countermark (Type VI, 1849-57) on a Costa Rica (Central American Republic) 1/2 real 1847JB, NGC XF 45, c/s XF standard. KM-68. 1.50 grams. Decent countermark with a little weakness along top legend, flat host with deeply toned fields yet silvery rims and centers (possibly from being hammered flat during countermarking). NGC #4703624-006.
