Hadrian. AD 117-138. Æ Sestertius (31.4mm, 23.75 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck AD 134-138. Laureate and draped bust right / EXERCITVS to upper left, MAVRETANICVS S C in exergue, Hadrian on horseback right, extending hand to four soldiers (three are visible) standing left before, each holding standard. RIC II 925 var. (bareheaded); Banti 274 var. (same). Near EF, dark brown surfaces, heavily smoothed and tooled with the fourth soldier on the reverse having been removed. LOT SOLD AS IS, NO RETURNS. Scarce.
