Romania 50 Lei 1938 Slaked Coin
KM# 55; The german command experienced a shortage of metal in particular Nickel, at the end of 1943 Germany began to withdraw from circulation coins Romania 50 and 100 lei 1936-1938 release of almost pure Nickel. It was decided to send them to the smelter of the German company "Association of German metallurgical plants" (Deutsche Vereinigte Metallwerke AG VDM) in Altena (Altena), a city in North Rhine-Westphalia. To exclude their further getting into circulation, the coins were allowed under the stamp pair with circular or parallel lines
