George III (1760-1820), Pattern Shilling, 1778, by Richard Yeo, struck on a heavier flan, stop after gratia, intermediate laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. inverted die axis, crowned shields cruciform, edge plain, 6.52g (cf. Clark 491; cf. Slaney II, 510; cf. ESC 2169 [R3] {cf. 1240}; S-), once cleaned, nevertheless retaining some residual brilliance, extremely fine thus, coin alignment not recorded by Bull for the heavier flan issue, very rare.
