KINGS OF THRACE. Lysimachos. 323-281 B.C. AR tetradrachm. 16.91 gm. 36 mm. Posthumous issue, in the name and types of Lysimachos of Thrace. Abydos mint. Circa 2nd century B.C. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon / Athena Nikephoros seated left, resting arm on shield, holding Nike; monogram to inner left, ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ to right, ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ to left, eagle and A-BY in exergue. Cf. H.B. Mattingly, "The Ma'aret en-Num'an Hoard" (Essays Carson-Jenkins) 461. Very Fine; well centered and sharply struck on a large flan. Rare.
