Republic 8 Reales 1846 C-CE AU58 NGC, Culiacan mint, KM377.3, DP-Cn01("Rare"). A near mint beauty and one of the finer examples of the perpetually popular first year Culiacan 8 Reales. Blessed with an above average strike as the "Libertad" within the cap and the feathers of the Eagle are well pronounced and not commonly seen this nice for the type nor technical grade. A handsome slate tone acts well as a palette base for a soft luster that interplays wonderfully with flares of pale turquoise and coral hues. This piece has arguably a significantly better aesthetic than its FoxLair sibling which sold in our 2016 Chicago auction for $1,645 (Lot #30372) and would be a premium addition to any cabinet.
