Republic 8 Reales 1825 Do-RL MS61 NGC, Durango mint, KM377.4, DP-Do02. Period before "MEXICANA". Although scarce as a date Dunigan and Parker note that "anything better [than extremely fine] is rare." Historically important as this starts the implementation of new dies moving away from the "Hookneck" design. This present specimen abounds with eye appeal, with relatively clean fields for the grade, a proper strike with just a tad of weakness on the obverse legends, and an absolutely exquisite toning that almost provides a cameo aspect.
