Republic "Hookneck" 8 Reales 1824 Mo-JM AU53 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM-A376.2, DP-Mo02. Medal Axis. A wholesome showing of the wildly popular "Profile" eagle. A short-lived design due to the mint officials complaining about the impracticality of the design as they were difficult to stack. This also explains why this date of issue is of slightly lower relief than the 1823. The present specimen displaying a nice remnant glow of luster, only minimal sights of rub on the high points, and an above average strike.
