ANGLO-SAXON, Primary Sceattas. Circa 680-710. AR Sceat (11mm, 1.19 g, 12h). Series BII, type 27b. Mint in Essex or East Anglia. Diademed head right within serpent-circle; vestigial legend in margin / Dove standing right on cross pattée; pellet-in-annulets flanking cross, small cross to right; all within serpent-circle; vestigial legend in margin. Abramson B400 var. (no pellet in annulets); Metcalf 114 var. (same); North 126; SCBC 777A; Coin Register 1995, 72 (same dies). Good VF, find patina.
