NABATAEA. Rabbel II, with Gamilat. AD 70-106. AR Hemidrachm (13mm, 1.78 g, 1h). Dated RY 1 (AD 70). Laureate head of Rabbel right; Nabataean RB’L M[...] before, Nabataean Š 1 (date) behind / Laureate, veiled, and draped bust of Gamilat right; Nabataean GMLT before, ‘ḤT behind (the T horizontally oriented). Unpublished but cf. Schmitt-Korte II 83 = Huth 95 for a similar hemidrachm. Good VF, dark find patina, some deposits. Unique.


The date on this piece is a ligature of the Nabataean letter Š (common contraction for the Nabataean word ŠNT = “year”) and number 1.
