USA, EISENHOWER TROPHY MONEY CLIP, 1960s, in sterling silver (64x24mm; 51.4g), features a golf club laying on a scroll bearing the competition name, 'Eisenhower Trophy Palm Springs Golf Classic' and below three of the Palm Springs competition courses, Eldorado, Bermuda Dunes, and Indian Wells, and at the top is displayed a cluster of 5 stars for President Eisenhower, on the reverse is the stylised name of the maker, Ruser; also an Essex Motors car owner's gilded and enamel badge (37x41mm), 1918-22. Toned, good very fine; very fine. (2)

Eldorado, one of the three courses named on the clip first entered the list of competition courses in 1961. In 1965 the competition became the Bob Hope Desert Classic and in 1986 was renamed the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic (see attached information sheets).

William Ruser (1908-94) a very famous and influential jeweller to the stars (see attached biography).

The Essex was a brand of motor car produced by the Essex Motor Company, Detroit, Michigan between 1918-1922 (see attached research).
