Together with newspaper articles on the German born, naturalised Australian Dr Max Herz, an acclaimed orthopaedic surgeon and his disgraceful treatment by the Sydney branch of the British Medical Association (BMA) and the Australian government when World War I broke out with Germany. He was interned at Trial Bay Jail north of Kempsey and later at Liverpool Camp and when war ended the BMA requested that he be deported which delayed his release from the internment camp until eighteen months after the Armistice had been signed. After his release he set up his own hospital at Rushcutter's Bay in Sydney and never rejoined the BMA.
