Kuang-hsü 20 Cents CD 1907 MS64 PCGS,
KM-K214, L&M-214. A rare type, one virtually never found in remarkable near-gem condition such as this. The issue possesses the obverse inscription "Tai-ch'ing Yin-pi", with a reverse reading "TAI-CHING-TI-KUO SILVER COIN". Detail is needle-sharp throughout, with a particular beauty bestowed by the detail on the the dragon, which sits in the clouds amid a sea of slate and beige tone, conveying an impression of utter originality infrequently encountered with most issues, particulary one as elusive as this. The obverse, equally attractive, is sheathed in a silky silver patina with charcoal highlights around the characters providing a fetching visual contrast. A stunning coin, one which most bidders are unlikely to see again with such appeal.
