Fukien. Kuang-hsü "Custom House" 10 Cash ND (1901-1905) MS66 Brown NGC, Fu mint, KM-Y98, CL-FK.15, CCC-29, W-189 (E-7), Duan-184. The only type with the different obverse showing, "FOO-KIEN CUSTOM", instead of the normal "Foo-Kien". Fully lustrous, with reddish-brown toning and surfaces that show no significant flaws. Very rare in all grades, this pristine piece is the finest certified across both NGC and PCGS and perhaps the finest known example of this seldom seen type. The previous finest example we have seen offered is a PCGS VF35 example sold by Stack's Bowers in their April 2018 Hong Kong auction of the Q. David Bowers Collection, Lot 40125, where it brought a hammer price of $4,800.
