Honan. Kuang-hsü brass Ferracute Pattern 10 Cash CD 1905 MS62 NGC, 10.12gm, CCC-520, CL-Hon12, Hsu-428, Duan-2586. A superb and excessively rare pattern, its brassy surfaces toned to a subtle cobalt and lavender hue that is further accentuated by whirls of glossy cartwheel luster. Engraved by the famous U.S. mint engraver Charles Barber and struck by the Ferracute Machine Company of Bridgeton, New Jersey, the present specimen is only the second we have handled, and is among only a handful that have come to auction in recent memory. Certainly an opportunity to be coveted by connoisseurs of the series, and a piece set to garner a wave of fierce bidding.
