Ionia, Phokaia. Civic issue. ca. 521-478 B.C. AR hemihekte (or diobol?) (9.44 mm, 1.32 g). Struck ca. 510-494 B.C. Archaic-style head of Artemis left, wearing sakkos and earring; curly hair escaping from helmet / random shapes within quadrapartite incuse square. SNG Copenhagen (Cyprus, etc.) 389-394; SNG Kayhan 522; Cf. Klein 452-3. VF, dark gray patina, excellent archaic style.
