CYPRUS. Paphos. Stasandros, second half of 5th century BC. Stater (Silver, 23 mm, 10.96 g, 12 h). Bull standing left; above, winged solar disk; to left, ankh-like symbol; in exergue, palmette ornament. Rev. 𐠨𐠭𐠨𐠰 𐠪𐠞 ('sa-ta-san-do pa-si' in Cypriot syllabic script) Eagle standing left with closed wings; to lower left, ankh; all within incuse square. BMC pl. XXI, 9. SNG Copenhagen 26. Tziambazis 7. An attractive and very well centered piece. The obverse struck from the usual worn die, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
