PHOENICIA. Tyre. 126/5 BC-AD 65/6. Shekel (Subaeratus, 25 mm, 12.40 g, 1 h), a contemporary plated imitation, CY 137 = 11/2 AD. Laureate head of Melkart to right, lion skin tied around neck. Rev. TYPOY IEPAΣ KAI AΣYΛOY / PΛΣ - KP Eagle standing left on prow, palm frond in background; to left, club; to right, monogram. Cf. RPC I Suppl. 4654A (for prototype). Breaks in plating, otherwise, about very fine.
