ARABIA, Southern. Saba'. 1st century AD. Half Unit (Silver, 20 mm, 2.73 g, 6 h), imitating a Roman obverse and a Athenian 'New Style' reverse. Roman style laureate male head to left within wreath. Rev. Owl standing right on amphora; to left and right, monograms. Huth -, cf. 294 (head to right). Munro-Hay pl. III, 63. Very rare. An unusually attractive and nicely toned piece. Struck from the usual somewhat worn dies and with a minor edge split, otherwise, good very fine.
