World War I Medals (3) the first awarded to 12112 Pte. R.Phillips 15th Royal Irish Rifles (North Belfast), VF. Pte.Phillips was killed in action in France 20/1/1916 and is buried at Miraumont Communal Cemetery C.1, the second awarded to 16887 Pte.P.Connor 8th Regiment of Irish Fusiliers. GVF. The 8th Regiment saw action at the Battles of Guillemont and Ginchy. Pte.Connor died of wounds in France 24/6/1916. He is buried at Bethune Town Cemetery V.E.75, the third awarded to D-9505 Pte.W.H.Allen 4th Dragoon Guards (Royal Irish). NEF. Killed in action, Battle for La Bassee 1/11/1914, buried Ypres Menin Gate Memorial Panel 3-5.Also entitled to 1914 Star and bar, World War I Victory Medal awarded to 5-2688 Pte. J.H.Boardman 1st Royal Irish Rifles. VF. Killed in action during the Battle of the Somme (Battle for Ancre Heights) 23/10/1916, buried Somme, Thiepval Memorial Pier and face 15A and 15B
