World Currency
Kiau Chau (China) Deutsch-Asiatische Bank Tsingtau 1 Dollar 1.3.1907 Pick 1b. A wonderfully rare example of the One Dollar denomination for the Deutsch-Asiatische Bank. Issued at the Tsingtau Branch, this issue was used for local currency both in the German colony of Kiautschou and in the Chinese Province of Shantung. Short-lived, this bank ceased operations in China after World War I. The design features Germania with spear on right and a German crest on left with a delightful dragon motif crest below it. Incredibly rare in any form, especially as an issued example, this rarity would be a great addition to any collection. PMG Very Fine 20, minor restoration, minor rust. HID08701242017
