C. Postumius (73 BC). AR denarius (19mm, 3.76 gm, 12h). Rome. Draped bust of Diana right, bow and quiver at shoulder / C. POSTVMI/TA (TA ligate) in two lines exergue, hound running right; below, spear. Crawford 394/1a. Sydenham 785. Postumia 9. Toned. Good Extremely Fine. From the Mayflower Collection. It is possible that the TA monogram found in the exergue on this coin may resolve as Tatius. The same monogram occurs on coins of both L. Titurius Sabinus and T. Vettius Sabinus in conjunction with the head of the Sabine king, Tatius, and the surname TA or AT is otherwise unknown for the Postumia gens. Perhaps the Postumiii, being one of the most ancient families of Roma, claimed descent from the Sabine king.
