Nearly Extremely Fine.From The Mayflower Collection.The obverse legend, FLORIAL(is) PRIMVS suggests that it was a Servilian who was the first flamen Floralis after the institution of games in honor of the goddess Flora ca. 240 BC. Flamens were the highest priests of Rome, and the fifteen flamines were in charge of the worship of various gods.
