Edward VI (1547-53) gold Half Sovereign ND, S-2435, N-1908 (rare), Uncrowned Bust, 2nd Period of January 1549 to April 1550, Arrow mm (struck 1549), Tower Mint, London, XF45 NGC, actually a wonderful example having luster and sharp details, especially fine portrait of the young king, reverse shield also remarkable, well centered on each side except that a small portion of the legends runs off the flan. Virtually mark free! Exceptionally choice. The obverse legend is the religious one on this issue, translating to mean "The shield of faith shall protect him."From The Marston Collection of British Coins.
