Charles II hammered gold Crown ND (1660-62), S-3303, 1st Issue without mark of value, AU55 NGC, exceptionally fine for issue, obverse centered with a crisp portrait and complete beaded rim, reverse not far off, only a slight amount of honest wear, rich yellow-reddish gold color. Rare as a type and rarer still in this unusually fine condition. This and similarly struck other denominations were the first coins of the Restoration, soon abandoned for the new milled or machine-made coinage of more consistent quality with security edges. From The Marston Collection of British Coins.
