Anne silver Medal 1704, Queen Anne's Bounty, MI-251/44, MS62 NGC, a beautiful piece with subtle silvery gold toning, struck in high relief, the portrait by Croker seemingly in marble it's so three-dimensional. The subject of this medal came about via the lush politics of this period, when Marlborough trounced all continental enemies and the British home counties experienced dramatic employment on all fronts, not least of which was the war machine. The Royal Navy also experienced numerous triumphs, taking bounties such as the Vigo Bay treasure from foreign ships. Anne's reign was one of the fiscally richest in English history, and this lovely medal is a fitting tribute to it. (Images of the medal are cut off by the slab.)

Estimate: 800.00-1000.00 USD
