French Colony. 10 Bits Heart-shaped Cutout of a Mexico Pillar 8 Reales 1756, KM10, Prid-(DOM)-6, VF Details NGC (holed), 24.69 grams. Originally valued locally at 8 Shillings Threepence, and revalued to 10 Bits in 1798. An attractive example with aged original patina. Ex: K.V. Eckardt and sold with an old collector's tag. Current research indicates that these heart-shaped cutouts actually originated in Gibraltar.
