South Peru. Gold 8 Escudos 1837-BA Cuzco, KM167, MS62 NGC, sharply struck with glowing prooflike mint luster, small edge bump at 9 o'clock on the obverse. Very scarce and popular type featuring the familiar sunface design used on many early Republic issues. First type struck as ESTADO with FEDERACION on the reverse.
