Peter I (The Great) gold 2 Roubles 1722, Laureate bust right / St. Andrew, Diakov 1.2-2, UZD 35, Bit 137 (R), PETR (R-25), AU55 NGC. Well struck and lustrous with some remaining luster. A splendid example of this very scarce type. During Peter's reign the capital was moved from Moscow to St. Petersburg, and he was responsible for many important improvements. Unfortunately, he left no heir, as his only son, Alexis, died in prison in 1718, for treason against his father.
Estimate: 20000.00-25000.00 USD
