Popayan Real 1828-1834 RU set, KM87.2. Non- countermarked examples of assayer RU from each year beginning with its first (as confirmed by us) in 1828 through its final of this type in 1834. Whereas the weight of these debased issues seems to average around 2.2 grams, the 1832 within this lot is remarkable at 3.71 grams on a noticeably bigger and better produced flan (we do not believe it a contemporary fabrication; also note its rather well produced edge of circles and squares). The final date, produced on the usual wafer thin 2.2 gram flan, is Rare. Mostly nice examples, Fine to VF. Sold as is, NO Return.Dana Roberts Collection and Study Group.
