Ceiba Real 1849 w/ lion c/s, KM72a. Fine with some old minor field marks. Importantly whereas KM under CAR lumps the 1848 and 1849 under one "type number", it did divide them within the counterstamp divisions as being either the KM 72 or 72a type. The reality is that in all cases, the 1849 is an ONLY-ONE-YEAR type as it is the only date which is 0.750 fine silver. Whereas the 1849 dated Madonna Real used a roped edge, this has the standard CAR milled edge.Dana Roberts Collection and Study Group.
