Date Set 5 & 10 Centavos 1871 -1900, KM48 (formerly Y-19) 5 Centavos 1884, 1885 and 1886. KM-54 of 1896: the common variety with large doubled date, plus the scarce one with tiny date digits next to a huge die break area. KM-35 10 Centavos 1871. KM-49 10 Centavos 1884, 1885, 1886 (two significant varieties: usual date digits on the first while second has the final digit of "6" invisible due to a die fill ), 1889 (rare date), 1893 (unusually nice type coin), 1895 (not the muled type) and 1900. KM-55 (with variations is the "mule" formerly known as Y-22. The 1871 backside die was "muled" with the standard 1883-1914 style silver obverse die): 1886 with P in central field, second has only "1 P" showing for the "date" (probable a die which had only the first digit pre-punched; then the large "P" of this emergency type was added ), 1895 with the final digit quite unclear due to poor mint over-punching; this is the variety that Almanzar-Stickney called "1894" which created minor nightmares for specialists, and 1895 with very large (but also unclear) digits. This is a most unusual lot which might normally require years to assemble. While fascinating coinage with much local flavor and special fiscal limitations obvious, most collectors choose not to focus on these crude unclear coins; nonetheless specialists savor their flavor. Quality is typical with some very worn and a couple better than Very Fine. Sold as is, NO Return. Dana Roberts Collection and Study Group.

Estimate: 1000.00-2000.00 USD
