KINGS OF MACEDON. Antigonos II Gonatas, 277/6-239 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 17.09 g, 4 h), in the name and with the types of Alexander III the Great, Amphipolis, c. 275-272/1. Head of youthful Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on high-backed throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and, in his right, eagle standing right with closed wings; in field to left, crested Macedonian helmet facing; below throne, monogram.
