KINGS OF MACEDON. Time of Philip V and Perseus, 187-168 BC. Triobol (Silver, 14 mm, 1.74 g), struck in the name of the Botteatans, Pella, in the district of Bottiaia. Macedonian shield ornamented with seven linear crescents around the edge and a tetraskeles of crescents at the center. Rev. ΒΟΤΤΕΑΤΩΝ inscribed on stern of galley. AMNG 119. BMC 1. SNG Copenhagen 136. Well centered and lightly toned; unusual with the complete ethnic visible on the stern. Obverse slightly doubled, otherwise, extremely fine.
